    Exam Question

Wouldn't it depend on the way they're used? Though I agree that not a lot of necessarily "artistic" skill goes into her works, she's still bloody brilliant, even if just as an intellectual figure... or something (it's too early for internet arguments, but I just can't help myself)

    The Literary Acquisition Thread

My mum's friend said he's getting rid of "boxes and boxes" of his books and hinted that he might pass them on to me... :uhoh: if he wasn't teasing me, I'll post back with them. I hope he wasn't teasing, he has good taste in sci-fi :read:

    Visual Arts 2009 BOW

What sofiztk8ed said, and you're also likely to get halfway finished on one idea, only to decide that it's horrid, horrid, horrid nonsense that you hate and you'll want to start again and then panic that you don't have time to do anything good. Really, anything can be made into interesting...

    Exam Question

Question seven, about artworks and exhibits changing the perspectives and practices of the art world (well, pretty close to that, it was over a few hours ago, after all) Wrote about some individual Stuckist artists and their exhibits in general, as well as mentioning Hirst and Emin  and I...

    Question regarding Case Studies

Yeah, your own ones are best. Also, alot of the school's case studies aren't contemporary. I've decided to use contemporary (Stuckist movement, Charles Thompson and Billy Childish, etc), so that it's something they haven't heard repeated a million times, as well as some older and more classical...

    General Thoughts: Senior Science examination

Re: Holy Shit Agreed, easy :D I was, I finished, checked everything twice and left within 2 hours. I'm only troubled by one thing. In Pharmaceuticals, I couldn't remember the name of the scientist who "discovered" penicillium notatum. I remembered it starts with F, realized I wouldn't...

Who else feels obscenely good about themselves?

Thank you. It might be due to the copious amounts of smokes, booze and books... and my windowsill bees.
  8. Hatta

Who else feels obscenely good about themselves?

I like it too, but the social and ethical issues are so repetitive that studying made my eyes bleed hate all over my textbooks. It doesn't work as well as highlighter.
  9. Hatta

Who else feels obscenely good about themselves?

We did it. We made it through the most tedious course in the HSC. Never again will I have to consider whether the the system I'm putting into place will make my conscience ill or if consulting staff will put me right with some beardo deity.

who did you think the bnw quote was by?

*squints* Are you me? I was arguing for the sake of it, too. I feel a bit let down that I have so much extra knowledge of these texts, and I am never ever ever going to use it. I sincerely doubt that a stranger on the street is going to ask me if I know what Centrifugal Brumble-puppy is, or if...

who did you think the bnw quote was by?

I think that quote is like a lot of the other parts of the novel, pretty much Huxley jumping up and down going "look at me, I can critique society!" Other things said, especially in that section, convey more powerful messages, and not just for "in the wild". Johns claiming of the right to be...

who did you think the bnw quote was by?

Actually, I agree with her -- there are much more important quotes in that section. Also, Prospero's epilogue has more to do with Shakespeare saying goodbye to the stage/his career.

Ways to Guarantee No "Silly Mistakes"

Confidence in what you're doing usually helps, too. So study, study, study! (I'm being hypocritical, I need to study too)

    ~~Mathematics Revising Game~~

This is as far as I got before admitting defeat: y'= 3sin.(cos.2cos(x^2)+sin(x^2).-sin)+((cos.sin(x^2)).-3cos).x^((3sin.cos.sin(x^2))-1) =3sin.(2(cos^2)(x^2)-(sin^2)(x^2)+(cos.sin(x^2).-3cos).x^((3sin.cos.sin(x^2))-1) = extra simplifying steps that I'm too lazy to type up...

    ~~Mathematics Revising Game~~

    :D Correct, but it can be simplified. y= ex- ((e^2/e)+(1/e)) = ex-e+(1/e)

    ~~Mathematics Revising Game~~

Can I join? As no one's posted a new question, I'll put an easy one :) Find the equation of the normal to the curve y=e^(-x) at the point (1, e^(-1))

who did you think the bnw quote was by?

Bernard probably couldn't say that anyway, at least not in the later parts of the novel. Bernard's a fake, he's not actually special, he just wants to get laid like all the other soma-riddled characters. Besides, when John says this, Bernard's off being ill and comforted by Helmholtz.
  18. Hatta

who did you think the bnw quote was by?

This is ridiculous. Don't know the text enough to recognize who said something mildly important and where it's from? GTFO of advanced.

    Loving the BoS?

Haha. Nope. I don't handle exam conditions well, which tends to lose me massive amounts of marks.
