Well you would pretty much need band 5's in every subject in the HSC exam, especially english and maths to get into the 70s for a UAI. Also, it seems very silly that you don't try through the year when 50% of ur hsc mark comes from in school marks. Many people get high 80s in the hsc exam but go...

You will need to go outstanding in english expecially to boost ur UAI. atm, ur sitting around 50s i'd be guessing. An improvementin eng and physics would really improve ur UAI.

If you can boost ur marks in english ( alot) and maybe a bit in maths, you should get a pretty rewarding uai. Prob high 70s. Plus ur ranks are good in most subjects so that will help u a lot. Also, only 4 people do avanced english???

I think you'll find that your teachers told you that ranks are good. And they are, but only if you get a reasonable mark cus otherwise they won't matter much.
