Cambridge 4 unit: Conics 3.3 Question 9 (a)
I'm up to:
m= [b.sec@]/[a.tan@] ...(1)
b.tan@ - ma.sec@ = k ...(2)
but the worked solution says that the next step is:
(2)<SUP>2</SUP>-(1)<SUP>2</SUP> -> m<SUP>2</SUP>a<SUP>2</SUP>(sec<SUP>2</SUP>@-tan<SUP>2</SUP>@) +...
How do i memorise essays? I've tried to memorise my essay, but i can't... :( I need to memorise it for tomorrow! Any tips on memorising it please? It's 900 words.
How do i write a synthesis essay in english?
I don't really understand what a synthesis essay is.
All I know is it's supposed to be justifying some argument about journeys I think.
I need to do a synthesis task on thursday, and i'm really lost! :(
Can sombody tell me the key-features...
The velocity of a particle is given by
dx/dt = x^2 + 4 cm/s
At the time t=0, x= -2
Find the displacement after pi/4 seconds.
ANS: 2cm

My working so far:
dx/dt = x^2 + 4
dt/dx = 1/(x^2 + 4)
t= 1/2 tan^-1 (x/2) + C

I need ideas for an 600 - 800 word journeys narrative. I cant think of any good ideas. :( This is due tomorrow btw, along with a feature article. :( Screw english.
I can't do this (I know I may sound stupid now, but everybody has their dumb moments). Can sombody show me the proof for this please? :D
Prove:
tan^-1 (1/2) + tan^-1 (1/3) = pi/4
I'm 15 and i'm going to be turning 16 in june, and I was thinking if I should take my L's because i'll almost be in yr 12 by then, and i should study, but all my friends are 16 and they've all either taken their L's or they're planning to.
I need help with this question please. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong??
The straight line drawn from point P of a parabola to the vertex cuts the directrix at T. Prove that if the focus is S that ST is parallel to the tangent at P.
Find the cubic equation whos roots are the squares of that of x^3 + 2x + 1 = 0.
How do i solve this?
do i let find the roots in terms of abc, ab + bc + ca, a + b + c? and then do i square it and rearrange it untill i can work out the coefficients of the new cubic? How can i do this?
Solve the equation 10x^3 + 23x^2 + 5x - 2 = 0 given that one root is four times a second root.
I tried to use the relationship between roots and coefficients and I ended up with:
Let the roots equal A , 4A , B
-b/a = 5A + B = -23/10
c/a = 4A^2 + 5AB = 1/2
-d/a = 4BA^2
Then I tried...
This is what i've done so far. I'm supposed to have 200 words, but i'm a little under. I'm not sure how good this is, and i would appreciate if somebody tell me how this could be improved. I want to pull my marks up because my average is 8/15 and it means I am almost failing english.
Any...
