    Job suggestions?

Apply for 10-15 places from now. If you don't get a job that way, then keep applying for the exact same places around September this year (no later than October) and you will definitely get some sort of a job. Try to get both an in person application and online application as much as possible...

UNSW O Week 2014 chat thread

I bought two myBus2's this morning. I went on the bus and every single student on the 891 express was given permission to just walk on without dipping their tickets. But going back to Central everyone had to dip their tickets in. So now tomorrow, hopefully the morning bus is free and when I...

What to expect on the 1st day of Uni...

I did this in a program once and it was very useful. Though there was one time where I got into an awkward handshake because I looked at the person's face too long and I basically joined a previous handshake to make it a 3 person handshake lol. So yeah it takes a bit of practice. By why not...

What to expect on the 1st day of Uni...

Same strength as the other person. Nice tall posture, look at the hand, aim, direct then when the shake is locked in you lock your eyes on the other person's face.

2nd year transfer to Adv Maths USYD from Engineering USYD

Why didn't you just choose a dual degree with Adv. Math and Eng. together. Then after first year/semester, drop one part of the degree and you are left with the one you want to do. I can't really help much though as I don't understand the system at USyd. I'll let someone know who might be...

    Questions about driving.

I was not talking about that. The lanes are separate from the start so you don't need to head check to the left at the start. This is on the money. I have to drive through a roundabout like this everyday for uni and you have to buffer to merge lanes. Whenever you turn the steering in this...

    Questions about driving.

@Carrot, you must do a head check to your left before leaving the roundabout too because you might have some driver (most likely not thinking) who has changed lanes or is exiting with you (The only two lane roundabout in my area exits into two lanes which mere after 50m so its dangerous and you...

    Laptops for Uni

Re: Laptops for university hahaha. Given current transistors are less than 100 atoms wide and the quantum effects kick in once you get to less than 10 atoms (or for insulators 5 atoms is the bare minimum), I can't really say we are far off. The maximum would probably be before 32-bit unix...

    Early ATAR Estimate

Good luck and try your best. If you try your best and get into your top preference no matter what your mark is you won't be disappointed. Actually just to clarify I'll say 90+. Aimpacc is actually quite right there and you can still get above 99 actually.

Free buses from central station (at the eddy ave bus stop) to UNSW?

Obviously you would only use it for a mymulti. I mean after everyone has finished dipping and there is no line left. You said you don't even dip so multi-dippers have to make up for it.

    Laptops for Uni

Re: Laptops for university In about 10 years time the current computer technologies will not develop much and we will hit a threshold due to physical limits on computing power. Just saying.

I know this sounds stupid, but what equipment do you need for uni?

Ah I see. So then in that case I'll probably only invest in the PHYS and ELEC ones for now (I'll still ask around to make sure though). Btw, there was a link you gave me back a few months ago in another thread. Where was that actually from? (You can pm me if you need to about this).

I know this sounds stupid, but what equipment do you need for uni?

I'll speak to the lecturers and tutors first week about PHYS. Though why is the MATH textbook not worth it? Is it because the exams are based on the course pack, or the course pack is just pointing out the important stuff of the textbook (where 50% of the textbook is not relevant to the MATH...

    Early ATAR Estimate

I'd say anything between 90-97 imo because school rank may leave you volatile.

What about PHYS or ELEC textbooks? If you don't have a clue then nm, I'll just ask lecturers first week.
