Wow really? That gives me some hope! I didn't think my school rank would affect my atar so drastically? How hard is it to achieve an atar of above 70 though? Are band 4s enough?
Dead serious! People at my school perform really well and we're not even a selective school! But as an individual, I'm doing average if not a tad bit lower and like I said, I slacked of after the trials and have been cramming every single exam sooooo... Yeahhh... :S
My gut instinct tells me that I did really poorly in the HSC. I'm trying to get an ATAR of 72 but I know that the cut off changes each year and I'm worried that it will go up this year (environmental biology @uts)! I went to my year advisor who is really accurate when it comes to estimating...
Hahaha you silly child! Obviously you have to know the song well! Not saying I've tried it or anything because I HATE classical music. My friends and legal teacher said that whatever you're trying to memorise get's "imbedded" into the tune of the song and when you're asked a similar question...
Turn on: I like a nice jaw line and abs and muscles in general, but it can't be overdone... Has to be just right (:
Turn off: Little to no sense of fashion, bad haircut and no decision making skills...
So, I used to be pretty good in prelim legal (ranked 5/78). But since then, I've lost interest in the subject and I had my heart set on dropping it from the start of year 12, hence, I'm totally not prepared for my half yearlies which is tomorrow (cramming tonight). My rank will definitely drop...
Remember school assessments are only worth 50% of your HSC mark. It's still early so you can always climb back up in ranking.
Don't be too hard on yourself (:
ALL year 11 and year 12 essays require you to compare texts, so obviously you have to compare the texts anyway.
Normally you pick a theme for your essay. E.g. Voice. Then you choose the characters that help illustrate your argument. You can also compare the character's different point of view...
So if I get the question: "Humanity strives for a sense of belonging", then I would say something like-
"Hence the above texts reflect humanity's intrinsic desire to belong, reinforcing the notion that (thesis)." Then briefly summarise your paragraphs in 2-3 sentences. If in doubt during the...
I memorise all my English essays the night before. It takes me max. 4 hours to memorise a 1200 word essay word for word. I still manage to get 20/20 for most of my English responses (:
I hate it. Nuf said. English takes up so much of my time! To add to that, I like to procrastinate so needless to say, I'm a crammer... Cramming for half yearlies
If you think you're doing well in your other 10 units then by all means drop it. However if you are doing poor in a 2 of the 10 units you're left with, then obviously don't drop it.
Make sure you actually TRIED studying to the best of your ability in that subject though. Don't just have...
Yes but both Donut King and Valley Girl have really good shifts that don't require me to work 24/7. As for my job at the stables, I'm only working until 11 ish so I spend the rest of my day studying (:
Having 3 jobs gets my mind off the stress involved in year 12!! (Screw you half yearlies....)
