it will change depending on what tax table you use obviously. going on this years tax rates
assessable income = 80000
plus franked shares 1000
plus franking cr (1000*(.3/.7) 428.57
less deductions 1400
total assessable income 80028.57
tax payable 80028.57 - 80000 = 28.57*.40 =...
here is another question for you all...because we are on an hourly rate do you think it will actually be counted hour by hour ie say we work till 7 one night will be be paid for that or do you think it will be unspoken that you just fill in 37.5 hours?
Personally i think there is a BIG difference between an american CEO's style V Australian. I dont think you will see an Australian CEO say something as flawed as the Bear Stearns CEO particularly when the wide media knew otherwise
I think it will be affected somewhat. depends what depatments people are looking at.
Departments such as Tax(and audit to a certain extent) should manage ok
Departments such as Business Advisory/Risk services will probably be affected the most
On the other hands, firms that run an...
hey mate, i have looked into doing financial planning major because its something i really enjoy however having looked into it (only a little bit) i can gather
>absolute pain in the ass to get qualified (even compared to CA)
and from that legislation is constantly making it harder and harder...
Just read it. not massively applicable to australia. even if you wanted to work in the UK most big four wont offer secondment till you are CA qual. so no study etc etc. all the same it is interesting though!
i accidently wrote deloitte on my ey cover letter...rejected in less than a day! (honestly do they think we sit there and hand type each cover letter to each firm?)
speaking of which does anybody know where i could find a list of which of the big four have which clients. been trying to track something down for a while now but have had no success
I think it will depend a lot on your course/subjects selected. I am doing bach of commerce with accounting and finance major. but im sure you could do a finance major and still get in provided you choose the right prerequisite CA subjects as well as your finance major. I know there is a fairly...

most of my KPMG interview qs were behavioural so pretty tricky to prepare for.
but have answers for...
It was all in response to PWC and you cant blame the other firms. They dont want to miss out on the best talent. and EY and Deloitte didnt stick to the rules they moved ther closing dates forwards by a few weeks. the mid tiers are the only ones that did stick to the rules and have ultimately...
with the rolling assessments..i was speaking to an hr person and apparently with previous years there was a code of conduct with ICAA where all firms agreed not to contact people before the cut off dates.
anyways at the last minute pwc pulled out of the code of conduct and said they were going...
