Yes it is possible. All you need is to go to the student office in the physics building and ask for a password. Get that password and type it into the Mastering physics so access the mastering physics assignments. The only downfall is that you cant access the online textbook.

There are no electronic copies of the phys1001 tutorial sheet on blackboard. To get the sheet they make you go to the tutorial class. At the end they also give solutions to them. This was what i need to do back when i did phys1001 a couple of years ago.

OMG finally....took me probably about 5 hours all together to get it but im not even sure i have the right reasoning ...

What an interesting question.... Cos (theta) cant equal to zero unless the angle we are looking at are 90 or 270 degrees. However because the question says is is larger than 90 degrees (and hence must be less than 180 degrees), cos(theta) cant equal to 0. But in saying that i cant see why...

If your doing 2u maths only then you wouldnt know how to use the aux method....but in saying that, i feel like the question is designed so that you dont need the aux method.

Hint: Divide all terms by cos(theta). Have a go yourself, if you really dont know then ill write it up, or perhaps someone will beat me to it haha (carrot/spiral).

DO NOT DIVIDE ANYTHING....if you do you will overlook some solutions. Instead move over all the terms to one side then factorise. 2sinxcosx= cosx 2sinxcosx - cosx = 0 cosx(2sinx-1)=0 cosx=0 or sinx=1/2 x=90,270 or x= 30,150 Notice how you dont have the answers x=90,270?
