Since maths is your worst I would suggest dropping maths but this also depends on what you may want to study in uni later on. Some science courses require at least 2 units of maths and dropping it completely may close off some options for you - unless you do bridging courses later on. Perhaps...

I would suggest Matrix for english since you're just in year 8 but for senior years I would suggest private or one-on-one instead because then the tutor can actually help you pinpoint your problems whether it may be lack of essay writing skills or lacking vocab etc.

I've been to Preuni for senior school and imo its quite bad. You could try going there for a short holiday trial course which costs around $300 I think? But I don't think its worth the money and frankly they aren't too good at explaining stuff afterwards. I've heard quite good reviews for Matrix...

I think you should wait a bit or ask your teachers which textbooks you'll be getting in school already before you go off to purchase new ones as you may get doubleups. For maths, I'll recommend you just go to the library or something to borrow some general maths textbooks for year11 - cambridge...
