They'll tell you during your first week lectures etc which books you will need. So I wouldn't recommend buying them just yet

It says on the timetable that it goes from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm and I was wondering if I could leave early? What activities do they get you to do, because I don't want to stay until 6.00 pm

apparently Uni offices close today and open on the 5th of January. So its best to give them a call yourself and ask. i also received a call telling me to change my preference by the 4th.

I totally agree that the AAS questions in the book are hard i'm having lots of trouuble with #34 on pg 231 if anyone can help, it would be great, i read in this post that, detailed calc. knowledge is not required, but just for that peace of mind i've uploaded the question on this thread...

you would have to say for example: x anions will form precipitates in a reaction with solutions containing x cations (the corresponding cation with which the anion precipitates) and basically list the solubility rulesfor the anions and cations that you're testing

so i've been trying to do this question (#34) for ages, and i can't get it it would be awesome if someone could do this question step by step you will have my eternal gratitude! orz
