    10 units or 12?

And they tried to convince me that hardly anyone accelerated...look at all the people posting here!

Which subject do you find the most boring so far?

^ Don't listen to him, chemistry is awesome :D It's the only science subject which I really get on a profound level, probably because it deals with such profound and fundamental topics :) However, in the spirit of warning people against taking subjects, DON'T DO BIOLOGY! In fact, take...

which would you prefer, board notes/dictating?

Sorry, misunderstanding  That's what I meant as well. I was more referring to teachers I've had in the past, who fill up the whiteboard with notes, and so we just sit for a whole lesson silently copying down notes

    Should English Be Compulsary Poll

You say what I think much better than I can, especially the first point :D Maybe I need to study some more English myself, so I can better express myself :uhhuh:

    Should English Be Compulsary Poll

Why does there need to be a common subject for the UAI? (legitimate question, not being sarcastic)

Dark vs Milk vs White Chocolate

The darker the better, up to about 80/85%...:D

which would you prefer, board notes/dictating?

Mine discuss what they have up (usually slideshows/OHTs though) but they don't expect us to copy it down anyway. If you are writing stuff down then you are wasting time in class that should be used for discussion. Rephrase: when you're in class, you should mostly be doing activities that can...

which would you prefer, board notes/dictating?

I don't like taking down notes at all...I prefer it when the teacher has notes which we can access some other way (eg intranet at school, printouts) which we then discuss as a class...I'm lucky in that none of my subjects really lend themselves to copying notes, so I'm happy :) PS - my vote...

    Should English Be Compulsary Poll

Yeah that makes sense, that's pretty much what I think:)

    Really weird maths assignment

I'm not sure what you mean? Yup, pretty much

    Assignments or Exams?

Oh...so you have to do work... hang on, you only do 5 or 6 subjects...and you have a month to write/study for them... *sigh* I give up with these lazy slackers...:D
  12. S

    Really weird maths assignment

Both :D Also I think my my maths teacher is getting lazy and is getting us to do her teaching for her, under the guise of an assignment :D We have to do so many non-exam assessments anyway...

    Love hate relationship with Permutations

I remember when we were doing this topic, my maths teacher told us that statistics is the slut of the mathematical world :)

    Assignments or Exams?

Hahaha...so you don't do anything for a whole term? Oh wait, when do you write your HSC exams?
  15. S

    Assignments or Exams?

Ah, I see...so what is Term 4 Year 12 then?

    Should English Be Compulsary Poll

But by year 11/12, it is far too late to be teaching English foundations. The problem in my opinion is in the younger grades - primary school. I went to most of primary school (up to grade 6) overseas (in Africa) and we learned everything we needed to know re foundations of English: spelling...

    IRP Survey on iPod Use

    1. Age: 15 2. Gender: female 3. Do you use a Personal Music Player (PMP) whilst in conversation with others? I don't own one, and I wouldn't if I did. 4. Do you feel that whilst using your PMP you can effectively communicate with others? If yes, what percentage of your concentration...

    Really weird maths assignment

Haha, funny that, that's actually what our assignment is based on :) We had to read all these extracts from it and everything :)
  19. S

    Assignments or Exams?

Well, it's kind of like each assessment doesn't matter so much, because there's so many of them, so if you screw up one, it doesn't matter...but if you screwed up your HSC exam, isn't that like 50% of your marks gone or something? I like my system better, but each to his own :) Also, this may...

    Assignments or Exams?

Never heard of a SAC, but we don't have final exams for each subject in Qld, just the QCS as a general make-sure-you're-not-all-stupid-idiots test. Our OP is taken as all of your assessments taken together...and for a lot of subjects, they count assessments from both years, so none of this...
