our teachers are not friendly in terms of ticks. my 22/25 creative for 3 unit english got 3 ticks in total, spread over 7 pages. so thats about 7 marks per tick. its so frustrating.

they're both a lot of work to do well in. but since there's only one essay in ancient and two in modern, its probably easier to get higher marks in ancient. although on the other hand, thats reflected in the lower scaling of ancient. as in, a 97 aligned in ancient becomes only 92 scaled...

theres just way too much risk involved - even a small chance of getting caught is too much because it involves the entire cancellation of your paper, as opposed to just one or two more marks you might possibly gain if you got away with it.

... OR you can write a story, then appropriate every other assessment component such as reasons for form, style, intended audience ect around your story? it seems to be doing the job here at grammar, because thats what the teachers pretty much expect you to do.

well i suppose if your doing an essay or such it would be hard. but a short story, at least to me, is actually fun to write. and as such, doesnt require much forced effort to do.

the guy who's fourth at grammar (and thus likely to get a UAI of 100) does earth and environmental science, biology, history, physics and 4 unit english. i.e. no maths.
