Is getting a band 6 in SAC scaling better than an E3 in ext. history or ext. 1 englis

Re: Is getting a band 6 in SAC scaling better than an E3 in ext. history or ext. 1 en Yes, I mean SAC as in society and culture and E3 in terms of an extension course, not the same as Band 3 or 4

Best 2 units of english count towards the ATAR

So they say they count your best 2 units of english. If you did three unit english, and you did better in the extension 1 course, would that get counted along with 1/2 of advanced? Also if you did 4 unit english, and you did better in the two extension courses, would those two only get counted...

Is getting a band 6 in SAC scaling better than an E3 in ext. history or ext. 1 englis

I'm not looking at scaling, but I was just curious to know. I know that SAC has a reputation for being a subject that doesn't scale very well unless you do very well. So if i got band 6 in it and I got an E3 in extension english or ext. history, would SAC scale better.

Does getting a band 6 in a 2 unit subject scale better than an E3 in an Ext. subject

If I got a band 6 in Society and Culture, or french continuers or even ancient history, would that scale better than getting an E3 in history extension or english extension 1

To choose extension 2 english or stick with history extension

thanks for your advice everyone, it was really helpful . the main dilemma i have is that I'm doing quite well in the subjects I thought I would drop at the beginning of the year. Like I think my ranking for SAC is 1st or 2nd and I don't have to put too much work into it.

Are you allowed to pick up anything in the first term of year 12

So if I was doing history extension for year 12 and a few weeks into it maybe more I realise its not for me, can I drop it and pick up english extension 2. are you allowed to do that. I know in for electives in year 9 and 10 and also year 11 they give you three weeks in which you can drop a...

To choose extension 2 english or stick with history extension

I've always wanted to write, not necessarily as an occupation, but to have written something like a novel would be my life goal (atm). Anyways, subject selections have already been submitted and I've already picked History Extension as a 14th unit. (I'm planning to drop something, but not yet as...

can rankings really stuff up your hsc

but there are some people who just don't both to put in the effort or try. Like there are some people who are like, I don't care about history or I'm not going to study, or put minimum effort. They don't realize that they pull down the cohort.

Mathematics vs 4 unit final ranking/ HSC Mark

I have a question about the mathematics 2 unit course. If you do 4 unit maths, they consider that you would have gotten a band 6 in mathematics as you don't actually sit the final exam. But 4u maths students still do mathematics assessment tasks during the year so they'd still get ranked with...

can rankings really stuff up your hsc

I don't know if anyone who does the hsc fully understands how the hsc works like moderation, scaling etc. but I have some questions If you were coming say sixth in your internal assessment mark in a subject and go a mark of 84, and in ur hsc you got a mark of 95, but no one else scored in the...

Job prospects: B Media (communication and journalism)?

your welcome. yes its a shame because journalism is a career that interests a lot of people. But you never know, maybe by pursuing another degree like commerce for example, you might end up writing in that field

    Communication at UNSW vs UTS

UTS, I would say. The practical experience is important and UTS gives you that. They don't merely teach journo for the sake of it like many universities. It's one of their specialities as a tech school and they teach you digital media and everything.

Bachelor of (Global and) International Studies - USYD/UNSW

I spoke to a professor at the university of sydney who taught this degree. He honestly admitted that there is no clear or set career path, that when a job opportunity comes it will be by chance. You can't map out what you want to do. He says its the skills you learn that matter. But a lot of...

Job prospects: B Media (communication and journalism)?

I would advise that if you're interested in journalism, it is extremely competitive and has become a dead-end industry. Many jobs are getting cut as everything is published on the net. Journalism is still a popular option at unis and unis still advertise it. At sydney I know that media and...

Useful Languages to Study - Portuguese? Russian?

I would say that in the future knowing an Asian language will be most useful. French used to be the second-language everyone learnt, however times have changed. I study French myself and I enjoy learning the language however even if you were to work in europe, english would be the required...
