    question on SIMULTANEOUS EQUATIONZ.

    x + 5y = -13 --- (1) 2x - y = 7 --- (2) From eq. (2) y = 2x - 7 --- (3) Putting this value of y in eq. (1) x + 5(2x -7) = -13 x +10x - 35 = -23 11x = -13+35 11x = 22 x = 22/11 x = 2 ----- (A) Putting x = 2 in (3) y = 2(2) - 7 y = 4 - 7 y = -3 -----(B)

Can't figure out the answer to this equation, help?

    ( 2x-1)/5 = (x/3) -1 5[( 2x-1)/5] =5[(x/3) -1] 2x - 1 = 5(x/3) - 5 2x - 1 = 5x/3 - 5 3(2x - 1) = 3(5x/3 - 5) 6x - 3 = 3(5x/3) - 3(5) 6x - 3 = 5x - 15 6x - 5x = -15 + 3 x = -12

Need help with 2 equations. Simple / Complex Familiar. SOLVE equation

    Q1. (x + 5)(x - 4) = 0 Solution: x + 5 = 0 OR x - 4 = 0 x = -5 OR x = 4 Q1. x² - 8x + 15 = 0 x² - 5x - 3x + 15 = 0 x(x - 5) -3(x - 5) = 0 (x - 5)(x - 3) = 0 (x - 5) = 0 OR (x - 3) = 0 x = 5 OR x = 3

    Is this the correct working out for y^2/5 - 2 = 18

    Seems as two steps are missing. My solution is: y^2/5 - 2 = 18 y^2/5 = 20 y^2 = 5*20 y^2 = 100 y = +- square root(100) y = +-10
