The concept of the imaginative journey as one that can lead to discovery and psychological development is a thread that weaves through the imaginations of every character or author of the chosen texts depicted on the visual representation. Each of the four texts to be discussed has strong links with one another as the characters and authors imagine different worlds created by the imagination of others or themselves. The journey of the imagination can often deepen perspective and understanding of the surrounding world. It can be a discovery of “what is possible†or “what can beâ€Â. Each image on the collage represents at least one of the key aspects substantiated and shared by the texts ‘Where the Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak, ‘The Wind in the Willows’ (extract) by Kenneth Grahame, ‘This Lime Tree Bower my Prison’ and ‘Frost at Midnight’, both by Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
