Lol its such an anti-climax....i feel like i should be worrying about something though...such a weird feeling? When are you signing out
haha y ouit wwas good both were like alot easier then trials! YOUR FINISHED!!! HOWS IT FEEL?
so how did you go with modern yesterday!?? I thought the paper was pretty good, feel confident about it :) Congrats on finishing today too! How was physics? I've just got eco to go tomorrow! Cant wait till 12.31pm!!!!!
i just ignored the civilians section entirely cause there gonna ask two question highly unlikely its gonna be from the same section and if ones from civilians you have the other one so just think of it like that like you said you could wing civilians so if its civilians and the last one ull do fine. like you know the content you knew it like ages ago back at that revision day you were comming up with stuff that i still dont know so dont worry bro. can i ask one more favour from you tho bro?
if i was a boy that would be my perfect degree! espec. with the architecture! Hmmm i really hope the Germany question will be either one on weimar (nationalism, depression, success/failure, social/eco/political probs) and something on foreign policy for Nazis or social/cultural change...MAYBE could pull off the army for the weimar q................Man im so nervous for this exam. CIE i hope its El Alamein, on the first section OR the Russian campaign...i havnt really studied for the last dot point (friggen idiot) or for effects on civilians...i might be able to BS if it was civilians....but the last section of the syllabus = :|
And once again if it is an "access" or "to what extent" question....then yes you should mention the other components of hte dot points...this is pretty much a guarantee for the "Growth of European Tensions" dot point in particular
For foreign policy they're going to ask what impact IDEOLOGY had on it....so instead of structuring your essay by just listing all the FP examples....structure it according to the aspects of ideology: i.e. Lebensraum, Grossdeutchland, Herrenvolk/Aryan/Untermenschen, Revising ToV, Nationalism....and last but very important: Hitler's PRAGMATISM!!!.....so i would mention everything from the Vote in the Saar (Jan 1935), right up to the Invasion of Poland in 1939....but write about these things under specific ideological paragraphs mentioned before....that should guarantee you good structure...theres not really that much to rememeber for FP, i love that topic b/c iv repeated it so much....just make sure you understand the components of ideology, and how FP such as rearmamaent fit into it (ie. rearming was defying the ToV - one of HItler's propagandist priorities)
lol i accidently sent the msg to myself:
well if there is a LoN/Collective secuirty question, I wouldnt say i'd concentrate on nazi FP, because you have to look at the dot points: abyssnia and the spanish civil war.....Germany was not a member of the LoN at this stage ( i think - clarification?), and so you wouldnt be looking at nazi foreign policy for the collapse of collective security in terms of the failure of the leage.....For collapse of security i'd defo look at abyssnia, spanish civil war AND THEN, maybe anaylyse the FP like rearmament, re-occ f rhineland, sudetenland...but nazi foreign policy is more to do with the policy of the appeasement, rather than collective security (since col.sec. is a part of the LoN dot point - Germany wasnt in the league then)
Well last year there was one question: assess the significance of the nazi-soviet non-agression pact to the outbreak of war......and for this you would concentrate very highly on the pact...and chuck in a couple of references to the other 3 dot points in this section. So if it were the policy of appeasement in this instance, then yes you would be directing your essay LARGELY around appeasement, but then chuck in the other 3 dot points on a much smaller extent. Depends if its a "to what extent" question or not
meh it was a long question...but not really a question. Ummm you know how personality section is split into two parts? Well i asked sir whether we should use historiography for the first section...the biography part of her life. Because when writing about her films, relationship with hitler etc, i was confused with whether or not we should mention historical interpretations about this..or just give a general outline, saving historiography for part b?
meh that sounds alright....i sent an email to sir yesterday asking a question about leni, but he hasn't replied yet! C'mon where is his dedication to his fav student! haha kidding.....not really. But seriously i need that question answered!
ill do that tommorow i think bro, tonight gonna summarise my summaries or most of the dot pts except the ones i already know off by heart. you know wats annoying me how the questions for germany are like straight from a syllabus dot pt there kinda from a bit of two or are just all skew wiff. Unlike conflict in europe like easiest essay questions out if you know your content. i reallllly REALY want a band 6 for modern!!!!!
at this stage, I think memorisisng the syllabus is what you should be focusing on. Completely clear your desk. Start with topic one and, looking at the syllabus for it, write it out (just the dot points). Next, turn the syllabus over, and see if you can write it out w/o looking. Continue doing this, until you learn it off by heart. Next: skim very quickly over your notes. Then, put these notes to the side and turn them face down. Now: Rewrite the syllabus, and try and write down any info you can think of under the dot-points you should have by now remebered off by heart. As soon as topic 1 is done. take a break. After your break. Come back and do the exact same with topic 2. Since Germany is quite lengthy, spend most of your time with this one, memorising the syllabus. Repeat for Leni, which should be quite easy b/c it is a very small topic. Lastly, do it for conflict in europe. Briefly look over any half decent essays you have done, and then re-read your summaries.
thats wat i was thinking for conflict in europe germany i dunno either like there LOADS to ask aye. im not as worried as i was b4 casue like the core should be aight Leni shouldnt be a prob should go alright in both conflict and national study but like im prepared to loose a few marks in those sections. be prepared tommorow to be bombarded with questions cause by 5 this afternoon my confidence will have disapeared and ill be packing it. With like today and tommorw to go (im assuming your just gonna be focusing on Modern?) how are you studying are you just reading now or actually writting essays?. Im just doing plans for heaps of questions like Outline Hitlers role in the nazi state just like one or two pages worht of notes to summarise my summaries but i dunno is that a good idea :S
imo conflict in euro will be a turning point question, and one about 'end of the conflict' dot point. Germany i'd say will be about changes in society, role of the army, MAYBE succes/failure of weimar/democracy......possibly even terror/repression + SA/SS OR racial policies.....theres a wide sector that they could ask from b/c they have tended to repeat themselves in the last couple of years...with the above mentioned either not asked, or havnt popped up in a few years.
yeah that one is pretty much just about the historical interpretations of her life. So the question is asking: is she portrayed both bad and good (i.e. balanced), or is she portrayed as overly bad, or overly good. When i answered that q, i basically said history presents us with a highly imbalanced interpretation, and then just used a few diff negative historical interps of her, followed by 2 positive ones. Pretty much said that even though peopel for and against leni acknowledge how awesome her techniques were, the latter's (i.e. people against her) representation of her is what dominants her historical understanding/portrayal, i.e. she is portrayed in history as a propagandist/nazi sympathiser and not a victim caught up in the regime
it says write a brief bibliography, which means a lot of detail isnt necessary. And to 1945 is pretty easy. It means you dont write anything about her post-45 life. So pretty much ends in her denazification.
school marks dont actually mean sh!t....its only the rank you want....because even if you think your internal/not-yet-moderated mark is say 90...and you only get a 75 in the exam....its gunna get moderated down...pfff you lost yourself your own band 6 in modern!.......dont be jealous of my smartness. And bio is next thursday. I dont think im gunna really study for maths anymore than i have....i've just done past papers.......its not counting so i dont really care. A 70 would be nice though :)
