  • Aha well in terms of psychology, self re - inforcement over a long period of time and ACTUALLY BELIEVING what you are saying can change how you act, think etc. So it's a worthwhile cause. Thank you Ealsy :p

Aha well I think it's great for phones and tablets, as a desktop system a big no no. I haven't personally tried it but many tech reviews don't like it and it just doesn't look like how a desktop should. I mean the normal xp/win 7 is the best look I say. Another reason I hate mac's is I just hate the actual look of the software, the keyboard is too small and it just doesn't feel right XD

Aha good! Stay away from that trap known as the p00n thread! It's a vicious vacuum!

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Aha only because of your teachers :p It makes for a pretty good prelim/hsc course and the idea of still having prac lessons is good :p (Come on Ealsy, hit the gym and get built XD)

Aha wait what, those 8 hours before an exam, despite how much I have done in the weeks leading up is super stressful, involving lots more cramming and freaking out :p Nah the question was one our teacher had made up at the beginning of the term, however the tutor helped me to mould the essay and eventually put it into an almost perfected form. Then we realised we just had to change one or 2 things and voila an essay built to mould to any question!
Aha yeah, tutoring so far for me has been amazing! Tip no.1 Get private, it's always better value for money. Your tutor can focus on just you and not a whole class of others.
I'll let you know how things go next year. I'm actually looking forward to year 11 haha. I hate subjects like PDHPE and geography :p

Haha, that's expected. And they tell us not to think about the exam 8 hours before we do it :p I just can't not stress about an exam and I can't not study before it XD Woah, it matched the question? So your tutor came up with the question, yeah? Tutoring is such an advantage. I really should talk to my parents about it. Haha, that would be so funny if it actually helped :D

Btw, what do you think of windows 8? :) And I haven't been posting in p00n lately, I should probably post something. I've just been so busy :p

Aha you may enjoy year 11 more, you will hate the anticipation for year 12 though :p Aha you'd hope on the off chance they come early for their own survival ;)

omg, essay over. Everyone was so super stressed during the hours leading right up before it but I am soooo glad its over now. I feel relaxed and somewhat confident. I got lucky in the fact that the essay I had been memorising these past few days perfectly matched the question and only required minor changes. So I think I did well but I'll just forget it for now and wait for the marks to return. <-- Hopefully our repetition of coming 1st will help XD

Yes, one more term! (well, less now! :D). Luckily I'm never late to class but there are usually about 5 people who are late every lesson. I hope they aren't late tomorrow! :)

Let me know what you think of the essay tomorrow :D

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Well that's much better news, glad that happened. Lol can't believe your teacher shouted, he kind of had it coming though...
Oh wow what an asshole though, such a hypocrite, now he'll try and make his students suffer. At least you've only got one more term of him... I would hope.

Aha cheers Ealsy, I would certainly love to be 1st!

This morning some students in our class told the assistant maths coordinator about what happened. He told them that he would talk to our teacher about it and he did. We had class that afternoon and our teacher shouted at us saying that we are so disrespectful because we didn't talk to him about it and instead we talked to other teachers. Now we have a maths exam in the next few days and basically the last section of the exam we just did won't count because we didn't have enough time and the exam that we are doing in a few days is on that topic. The mark we get for that will be added on so it's all good. The bad thing isn't about the exam but he was so angry that he made a new rule. If we are late (even by 1 minute), we are going to get an afternoon detention (which is for 1 hour) because we didn't accept his lateness. So yeah, that was my day :p

Good luck with the essay tomorrow! Make sure you are ranked first! :D

Wow that's really sad :S In the sense that, that just isn't right...

Yeah listening task went well, I think I did well but I'm keeping it out of mind until results come back next week. So far I have everything prepared for essay, just trying to memorise it as best as I can so I can mould it easily on the day as there is only 40 mins or so for the essay :S Which is barely any time at all.

Our teacher is probably around 24 years old? Maybe a bit older or younger but around there. And I swear he cried and ran out of the room and stayed in the office for the rest of the lesson which was about 30 minutes.

Ah yes, how did the listening task go? Ready for the essay? :)

I can't believe the actual co-ordinator/s said that, they should care about the concerns that are raised, especially if your teacher is that bad. How old is this teacher, if he actually cried/ran out?

Well they don't give you extra time, they just make sure everything is ready to go and will rock up to class before start time so that no problems arise. It's well managed here, and if its during an official exam week, where there are no classes then it's all run HSC style in one of the exam rooms. Well my next one on Friday is an in class essay, aka the more time the better.

Well I heard a few students saying that they plan to meet up with the mathematics coordinator to talk about it but we'll see what happens :) Not sure what they can do about it though.

Yeah, everyone is concerned about our teacher but whenever we complained to the mathematics coordinator and the curriculum coordinator, they told us to stop disrespecting the teacher and when we told our teacher that he was a bad teacher (and we even gave suggestions on how he could improve), he cried and ran out of the room (serious) and shouted at us the following lesson. I just hope he doesn't take any year 11 or 12 classes :p

But in years 11 and 12, don't your teachers give you extra time so you get the full exam time? :) I heard that's what they do at our school for senior exams but for juniors they don't care as much. Besides, some exams don't even need the full period. Our exam did though :)

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Oh wow, that's actually a serious issue, one which should be taken to the school. You can't just do that to a class, take away the students time because the teacher doesn't care. Even if that doesn't get reported, you CANNOT let that happen during yr 11 and 12, even 5 mins late in year 12 and I'd be talking to someone about it. As every minute counts. Annnd you had to teach yourselves, I'm a bit concerned about this teacher.

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Haha, I just had to ask because I know what sort of threads you look at (of course I do :D) and I was like, since when does Caffeine look at maths threads? :p

We did our maths exam and our teacher was literally 20 minutes late and he only gave us 5 extra minutes. When he said "10 minutes left", most of us were only on the first section (there were three sections). It's not looking too good but we'll see how it goes :) And yeah, we all had to teach ourselves :p

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Bahahaha the thought occurred to me, that if I can understand what was said in that post then I might not be that retarded at maths XD Alas I gave up quickly :p

Aha good luck, you'll be right.

You may be better off teaching yourself anyway if the teacher really is that lazy/bad.

Current Activity: Viewing Thread Differentiating Exponentials

Caffeine! I see you like maths now haha ;) Okay, I'll get back to studying :p 4 exams left! :)
Ugh, for once I can say that I strongly dislike a teacher haha. For our maths exam, we have to teach ourselves an entire chapter because our teacher rushed through it. He said that he can either go through it slowly so we understand it (but we have to skip 1/3 of the exam) or he can rush through it so at least he can say that he taught it and we can do the whole exam. None of us understood anything :p Oh well, it's going to be a long night haha

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Haha, it's not just you :) It's been happening for a few weeks actually, not sure why :p Haha, a study group like Community :p I want a study group! Luckily there have been a couple of threads from other 2014'ers asking to make a study group :) Not sure if we are actually going to make one though XD

And nope :) The last time we had an exam block was in year 7. Now our yearlies go over a few weeks and we just have it whenever the teacher says we are going to have it. Sometimes, it gets a bit unfair because some classes do it earlier and then the students who did the exam can tell others what was in it. Well, might as well enjoy while we still can because there are exam blocks next year :p

Aha sorry for the late reply, have you noticed lately BoS keeps redirecting you to the Wiki no matter what you're clicking on i.e. forums etc.?? Started happening to me today on both my laptop and desktop :S It better not just be me XD

Aha yeah it is quite motivational, it basically forces me to say to myself what am I doing here? and am I really fighting for my aspirations? If not begin fighting Immediately!:p (Then i go off and do some epic study XD Wish I had a study group like Community (although they actually do work instead with a few adventures :p)

Aha I watched a bit of the Barker feed, was pretty good lol.

Well good luck in your exams, so is this week a full week of exams and no classes or is it spread out??

-Must Rank 1st in EVERYTHING - AND -Must Rank 1st in life-
Whoops, forgot to add something to my previous post, I've added it now :D I have two exams tomorrow, I think. For one of my subjects, our teacher doesn't even know when the exam is :p I'm off to study now, talk to you later, or tomorrow! :)
