Yeah I understand that and thanks 😭 this was my last straw so I’m going to be editing my post bc I really don’t want to spend the rest of my day overthinking
and like also most ppl that I know of who attend selective schools don’t pursue music as a career so as far as ik musical talent n extra curricular isnt rlly necessary
That is actually so so true, bc ultimately it comes down to ur academics in the hsc and whether u do well enough as a cohort to maintain the schools ranking n shit 💀 like unis do recognise musical talent if u do AMEB from grade 8 and above but otherwise it’s all down to ur academics
it’s not just that, if u hv a lot of musical talent but do shit in ur academics and on the test then they won’t accept you where as if you do quite decently for the test n at school as well as hv extra curricular to back it up then you’re in good hands. It’s all abt balance
we're all still in denial but it's okay it'll sink in 😭 it's not the worst thing ever if we don't make it in though, if we do v well in our current school and make it to the top in ranking then we still have a fair chance at doing well
Yeah i think it’s common practice amongst all schools to do that even w hornsby girls they called/emailed the successful applicants before sending out results to the unsuccessful applicants
