I did a Bachelor of Medical Science/Bachelor of Engineering at USyd. I did Biomedical engg in sem 1, but then swapped to chemical because after doing UMAT I thought I would get into medicine, and didn't want to have to study hard for Engineering Mechanics. ^_^
I didn't study too much, I just did a few practice papers with a friend
I think what made me good at it was doing Engineering and computing. That built my logic skills so much.
