You seem very pleased with that english result - simply put you shouldn't be. If all your other results are correct, then that would suggest you have a good work ethic and have a pretty decent memory. Would it not have been worth the time to memorise english essays? Even someone who is very poor...
Personally, I would memorise a few quotes for each text, read the question in the exam and just start writing. And despite how it sounds, that actually worked for me (93 exam mark in the HSC, 95 HSC mark). Then again, I am one of the only people I know that can go in there and write a coherent...
I would be curious to see how many of these clerical rechecks actually find any mistakes.
No offence intended to OP and others, but if many people do far better than expected by simply having an extraordinarily good exam, isn't it just as plausible that you simply had a bad exam? Having said...
Which is why I never said it always works that way. Although I was referring to what the majoritys opinion would be, VA is one subject that has extremely split ideas on it. However, even then I believe the majority opinion would be that Extension 2 maths is far more difficult.
As someone just pointed out, the UAC doesn't just randomly pick and choose how subjects scale. It is done based on complex sets of information relating their relative performances in all subjects (however English has the most importance). Essentially, your entire post is completely incorrect.
I know you love to say this, and you even corrected me before. However I already knew this, I just think it is a far simpler explanation to say that the harder a subject, in general the better it scales.
I know technically it has NOTHING to do with a subjects difficulty, but across the board a...
Ahhh man do I love bleeding heart hippies.
Anyone who can say - with a straight face of course - that they would have prefered to be born into a nomadic aboriginal society rather than living in Sydney, a city with some of the highest living standards in the world, is a flat out idiot...
Hahahahahah ok this is just getting beyond funny.
What I do find interesting is that the majority of people have decided that not only did I study hard, but that I also did a lot worse than what I have claimed. Only a few have come to the conclusion that perhaps I did get 98.5, but that I also...
No one screwed you over. You had relatively poor marks, and I am assuming they were in poorly scaling subjects.
Simple as that.
(PS. Before you start complaining about scaling, the reason your subjects were scaled poorly is because they are easy)
(Quote in reference to people defending a post that claimed a 96.5 ATAR with minimal study)
I find comments like this absolutely hilarious. There are all sorts of people in this world, there were people who studied hard and landed themselves <50, and there were those who did minimal study...
