whats the difference between music 1 & 2??
The HSC for music 1 is 80% consisting of 4 electives (any configuration of performance, viva voce or composition I believe) and 20% is a 1 hour aural exam
The HSC for music 2 has one performance, composition, musicology (more music theory oriented) and a 1.5 hour aural exam (the part that surprised me was that you have to sight-sing a melody for one of the exams)
The content for music 2 is much more in-depth, about the different music styles like Baroque as far as I know.
Music 1 is much more performance oriented, since my class chose 4 performances for their electives.
music 2 has electives as well, as legendary16 said there's 1 each of core performance/comp/musicology which is mandatory then u pick an elective perf/comp/musicology. only exam we have to actually do a paper for is musicology component (that's the aural exam), comp/perf are separate days/submissions. sight singing is done DURING performance exam and was frankly terrible.
content-wise, idk much about m1 but m2 is baroque/classical/romantic then australian art music of last 25 years (weird ass topic) then another one of choice.
yeah this long infodump is all pro-music 2 propaganda.

lol same question for anyone here doing multi
I did multi! I loved my major work, it was about time travel. The guy just travels around in the past and the future and then destroys the world. Pretty straightforward storyline. I feel really good about my major work since my portfolio was really detailed and touched all of the requirements in depth, the video and website as well as the posters were really high quality, and I got nominated for SHAPE as well making me more confident. As for the exam, I haven't touched the industry study at all, probably will only study for it the day before.
