Hey guys,

So, what do you reckon?!

I think there will be a couple of big PFA questions, a hard relativity question (there really has never been a HARD one), perhaps the named Australian male/female physicist, but I've got a feeling there will be quite a few skills-based questions and prac-based questions.

Oh dear I have little clue if they ask PFAs or Australian physicist.

doesn't ring a bell. could you elaborate?

---------------------

Also, my school thinks that Braggs will defs get tested, because this year is the year of crystallography - http://www.iycr2014.org/

----------

Lastly, could someone give some good ideas for what to write if they give a Australian scientist question? I have no idea....

It's in the syllabus in a table form.

Hoping Relativity is in it. Space is the only/most interesting thing in HSC Physics tbh.

I hope they dont give those Motors and Generators question where they want us to find the direction of the current or what not.Yea, consequences of relativity is alright.. but not too complicated ones.

What do you think the 7 marker gonna be like, Einstein and Plank,Westinghouse vs Edison, Or structure of conductors, insulators and semiconductors.

Maglev Train and AC induction motor combined :p

Those are normal questions to be expected every exam...
I mean, something that simple is found in multiple choice quite regularly so make sure you know how to evaluate the direction current travels in a wire due to induction.

Not sure if you realised but Einstein and Planck was a 6 marker last year and superconductors and semiconductors were combined into a really nice 7 marker last year.

Westinghouse vs Edison, not sure, but they should include the Epic Rap Battle on it as part of the syllabus from now on (jks) :haha:

there will be projectile motion
HSC 2020

umm..... I mean 2016

(actually projectile motion questions are always part of the paper as at the bare minimum as a multiple choice related question)

Yea, I know those question about the current flow comes in nearly every exam.. and I need to work on those type of question by practising the right hand rule..

Lol..it would be cool of a rap battle Edison vs Westinghouse.. during a video u would see tesla doing a cameo.

Projectile motion isn't bad.. all the question are back of the paper. All you need to do is to just practise the questions.

There is an Epic Rap Battle on Tesla vs Edison iirc.

Yeah practice the right hand rule. There's many different version lol. Gets worse at uni second sem (Poynting vector lol).

I bet a lot never read that part of the syllabus :O
100% agree. Most of my tutoring students never hear about it from their school teacher. But, go through the last 10 years of examinations and I guarantee there are questions relating to them in each exam. Most likely 4+ marks.

Yeah last year we had to write about a scientist contributing to space exploration.

Good thing is that our teacher spent a good 2 weeks with us exactly a year before the exam where we watched Space Race and made and ate popcorn lol.
