Hi guys,

I know it's a little last minute but here's some links to my notes on each of the four topics:

Operations: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNSUZ5QXdJRGN6Z0U
Marketing: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNbDlzdzFZc2lmSm8
Finance: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNS0RPWkJiczloQjA
Human Resources: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNcXM0NmlzVzNxUm8

My case study notes are in separate files, I've only done Operations and Marketing so far:

Operations: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNTEVGRFJsb1ZIeUk
Marketing: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNbHA0RTFQNXR5NEE

I'lve unfortunately run out of revision time, so I won't be doing case study notes on Finance or Human Resources, sorry.

And personally, I think that whole Exam Trade Centre thing is stupid, because it stops everyone from accessing any exams, so I've also included links below to the 2012 Penrith High School Trial and 2012 Western Sydney Social Science Teachers' Association (WeSSSTA) Trial Paper.

2012 WeSSSTA Trial: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNZlNDU2dRdVl3TmM
2012 Penrith HS Trial: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNakFld09hWU9qUlk

UPDATE: I have also managed to find a sample Section III question on Operations, a trial paper from an unknown school and a sample Section III question on Marketing with a sample Band 6 response:

Operations Section III Question: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNS3dDRTlZWE5DdW8
Unknown Trial: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNdUdMck1fM0lxcWM

Marketing Section III Question: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNWTFQUlk1cUNCS1k
Marketing Section III Sample B6 Response: https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B4XzAN-sCydNSFM3cnpsTV9xZ3c

Would do, but my teacher didn't return my trial exam to me, so I don't actually have my answers with me.

I'll do the MC section now though, should only take 10 mins or so.

Thanks so much man. I bet "Examine" the phaggot is burning so badly. Wont be surprised if he takes this documents and doesnt say thanks
Haha I sent him a PM with both exams asking for access to this so called trade centre, but I don't expect a reply. Like seriously, I don't get his logic. Before the trade centre, the so'called "problem" was that only two or three people uploaded exams and everyone else just leeched them, meaning there was only two or three exams for everyone to use for revision. So how do you solve that problem? By monopolising a website that isn't yours and in doing so leaving everyone with ZERO (which happens to be less than two or three) exams to use for revision.

OK, my answers for Penrith High MC section:

1) C
2) C
3) C? (or maybe A)
4) B
5) A
6) D
7) C
8) C
9) B
10) D
11) D
12) D
13) B/C *
14) B
15) B
16) A
17) A
18) B
19) D
20) D

* with Question 13, we had a massive argument across both our business classes about what the answer should be. The question says that the company is "pricing its hire cars at a price that is below cost and below competitor prices."

Now, to me, the use of the words "below cost" screams loss leader, and that's what most people seemed to say. However, both our teachers said that it would only be loss leader if the business was using below-cost prices to attract customers into the store with the hopes of getting them to buy other products that they sell, and that since this wasn't the case in the example, that penetration pricing was the correct answer. My argument in response was "if that's the case, then why bother including the words below cost at all", to which I didn't really get a straight answer.

Personally, I don't think that the BOS would include the words "below cost" in a question like that unless the answer was loss leader, but yeah, Question 13 was a bit messed up.

With Q9, economies of scale only occur when the scale of production is increased, which usually means entering global markets, rather than simply using overseas production facilities. I dunno, I might be wrong, but I went with the one about regulatory differences, because in the question it said something about minimising labour costs.

With Q12, factoring would improve the accts receivable ratio, but the question also syas that the business wants to increase profitability, and since factoring companies charge commission on the debts they collect, factoring can't be the answer. I went with the one about charging late fees, because it encourages faster payment of receivables without compromising profitability.

With Q17, COGS = Opening Stock + Purchases - Closing Stock, and since total COGS is 90000 (150000 - 60000), we know that Opening Stock has to be equal to 90000 - (Purchases - Closing Stock), ie Opening Stock is 90000 - 42000, which gives 48000, which gives A.

With Q18, while increasing sales would indeed improve the GPR, it's not a very specific answer and is much easier said than done. MC questions are about the BEST possible answer, and I personally think that reducing stock wastage would be the best answer out of the 4.

And finally, as for Q19, Critical Path Analysis is always really tricky. If you were to take the top path on the diagram, it would only take 20 minutes to get from A to F, which would not be enough time to do tasks C and E. Conversely, if you took the bottom path, iut would take 50 minutes to get from A to F, which would give enough time to simultaneously do tasks B and D. The easiest way to calculate the critical path is to take the longest path in terms of time whenever it splits in two, because that ensures you have enough time to simultaneously complete the tasks on the other branch of the path.

lmao he is the biggest dog ever. The cunt takes everyones exams and doesn't give out, selfishest kunt out. brb finding his IP
Couldn't agree more. I'm tempted to tell the CSSA that he's distributing their Business trial for personal gain (which is technically true, just not monetary gain) so I can watch him get arrested for breach of copyright.

If you find his IP, lemme know. I'll challenge the bastard to an Age of Empires II duel. That'll make him wish he had shared the exams.
