I don't know why Q11 (e) is worth 3 marks. It's just a logarithm

i use logs then i saw it and thought no way this was worth 3 marks .. then i did a plus 1 minus one to the top and ended up with tan ==" ......... fuck my life.

pretty sure if it's 3 marks they want you to use substitutions and do it fully instead of just going straight to log

Nope let u =e^x, comes to u/u^2+1
That's what I did first, then I redid the question ....

I got 1/2 ln (u) - ln (u^2 + 1) from 1 to e^2 (did someone get this?)
