Re: The Nonsense Thread

Just memorised 2 essays (1 essay written the night before and memorised in the morning). Each essays covering 2 texts.

(I did poetry and we had to do 2 texts in our essays, 1 was given on Friday and the other was unknown. Unknown one could have been any studied in class but 3 most likely ones + the given)
lol holy shit.

Re: The Nonsense Thread

Why do you want good marks? To impress your folks? That way you probably won't enjoy what you are doing...
No. I want good marks because I want a good future. The only thing that motivates me to study is my future.

Re: The Nonsense Thread

Na - I'm not that screwed.

Plus, exam's at 1:00 pm - so I get precious morning study for maybe 1 past paper providing I finish all theory tonight.
Personally, and I know the other two guys in the top three in phys and chem agree- past papers are overrated for the sciences. Once you know your theory, it all comes down to not throwing away marks for stupid stuff and you can practice that without doing a full paper. Personally, I would spend more of the morning practice on going over notes again but thats just me.

Good luck though- make me proud

If you are not aiming to apply for a selective school then your grades from 7-10 are useless (not to say that you shouldn't try). But it is a good time to get your knowledge/study habits together in time for Year 11 and 12

Yea - I've got to cram hard.
And to the bolded part: ?
iirc, you need to know the significance of water for the living and properties that make it great.

also you need to know about graphite, its layers, nano tubes and buckyballs.

+1

write out everything you know for a higher chance of not losing marks and fitting the marking criteria

This - although I've actually come to enjoy a few of my subjects where I, in a sense, appreciate it's "beauty". + I have a very strong competitive drive :p (most of the time)

My school skipped that part and made us do an unassessable assignment for it. We instead did more "important" things (apparently) such as molar heat of dissolution and combustion.

And the significance of water and shit is what I need to memorise now.

Alright then - thanks for the tips. I've already gone through my school's past papers since we repeat questions (like 70%).

you think a guy who got 83 in SC English can just wing an essay and get an A?

Highly unlikely.

Ain't an English natural. (As seen by the 6 or 7 syntax problems I had in my essay, dat sentence construction ability)

It's all about the money and the glory.
