hey!
okay so my school is ranked 68
and i was just wondering, if so far i've had 2 assessments for CHEMISTRY
and my overall rank is 14/25(really bad, obviously)
i have another one which is the final internal assessment till the trials and i don't plan on going too well in that either.
my half yearly report said my mark was 79/100 for chem.

just say i was ranked last 22/22, but i manage to ace both trial and hsc exam
is there ANY chance of getting 90+ for chem?

love to hear your opinions

thanks

the main thing is, you forget what happened in the past, and focus on your new goal ( 90+ in Chem). If you keep thinking about what has happened, you wont move forward.
So leave the past, start studying really well, get prepared for your exams, ace the next exam, trial and hsc and you will definitely get a band 6. It all comes from you.
btw, how are your other subjects going?

those ranks dont mean anything.
do your best and thats about it.
school ranks have no influence on ATARs what so ever

hahhaa, you are so lovely! thanks a bunch, but yea i really should. just worried about chemistry though. i'm trying to think realistically, i mean, i can't pull at 75% average up to a 90% with just trials and HSC to go. :[

don't worry about thinking realistically for the time being... because when you think realistically, you doubt yourself(personal experience) and when you doubt yourself you wont get anywhere.
And you'd be surprised how many cases there have been of students who dont achieve well throughout the year, but work hard for last exam, trials and hsc and still get good results( normally in high scaling subjects...like 4u maths and chem)
so just give it your best shot, dont neglect your other subjects, maintain your modern and sor, and you'll be fine.
any idea what u wanna do in uni?

A rank of 14/25 and a mark of 79/100 so far is not bad at all. That is certainly not considered to be failing.

90 in chemistry is hard to achieve.

You don't plan on going well in a future assessment?

I think you shouldn't panic too much as i don't think the gap is too far from the ranks above you from your marks, just try to pump more time into chem, 90 isn't totally out of the question since you still have trials which is worth quite a bit and even then the HSC has its weird ways of playing around with your marks

i just mean, i'm not heading towards a band 6 mark with my ranks/marks at the moment! I want to know if i have a chance of doing that with only trials and HSC left? It seems too late now
