i've only heard one of his songs so I can't really judge but he is targeting towards girls so he's not really mainstream. I don't even know anyone that listens to him? And note I didn't state it as a fact that mainstream=bad.
btw, naruto shippuden has greatly improved on the original, now that it has linked the past events with the current events, it seems like it's a great set-up. Besides, the next war has started so wateva, i'm excited at least
