Meant as a joke, Buzz Killington. And in fact I live in the inner west. Many aboriginals living here.

What on earth are you harping on about. This is currently a tax. The fact that it will eventually merge into something else has nothing to do with my point.
oh thankyou lentern for a single poll from 2009 asking if people are in favour of a CARBON REDUCTION SCHEME (notice reduction scheme being the keyword, as opposed to tax)

When governments, public servants, economists, academics and law experts spoke about a "carbon tax" as a possible mechanism for the reduction of carbon they referred to a consumption tax on specific goods. In general discourse, placing a regulatory price on the production of carbon like this one was seriously considered a "carbon tax" any more than Tony Abbott's descriptions of Rudd's "CPRS" as a "Great Big New Tax" were treated seriously by any but the party faithful. A consumption tax on specific goods was the Greens Policy prior to 2010 for anyone who cared to read it.

The discussion of a regulatory price on the production of carbon as a "carbon tax" only entered the political lexicon after the 2010 election, you can see in this article http://www.theaustralian.com.au/nat...on-price-promise/story-fn59niix-1225907522983 that Gillard never ruled out placing a price on carbon production. It was a carbon tax in the sense that it was previously used which she ruled out.

It is fine to debate the merits of different forms of climate action, less so the need for climate action but still that's within the bounds of reason but can we finally stop this pathetic, delusory line of argument that she unequivocally and specifically ruled out the legislation which she has just enacted. It is just, plain wrong.

Haha lol. I dunno about you guys, but I actually thought he was a troll to begin with. But after so long, he can't be still trollin'. It's just not good for long term mental health. So I've come to the conclusion that he's serious. Which scares the fuck out of me.

....but she lied to the people..she openly lied! changed her view about the carbon tax about 2 weeks after she was elected to the role of pm because she had a 'change of heart'...
same thing happened with Howard...stating that under his government there would never be a GST...well he lied too lol.
our whole government is based on feeding the australian people false promises.

National Debt, which Howard and Costello campaigned on with their debt truck in 1995/1996, "$10,000 for every man, woman and child" "The Beazley blackhole" etc, National debt tripled under the Howard government.
