is the maths used interesting, or is it just like calculator work?, tnx for ur help
If you want interesting maths do science or engineering.

I've done Micro 1a and all I've seen is some simple algebra.

As kaz, said - if you want interesting maths - you do maths. If you want to learn economics, you learn economics.

The most interesting maths in Microecon is probably the elasticity formula. E = P/Qm, where m is the slope.

The maths in economics can get more difficult as you go into third and second year economics units, requiring a solid understanding of calculus, but it isnt anything too complex.

Yes. They go back to fundamentals in a way - and there's a lot of theorems to learn that'll be the basis of work in later years.
Hey shadowdude
What does your course involve? Why did you choose it? What careers does it opens? For Bachelor of science, what exactly do you get from it.
thx

Btw i noticed the degree you would like to do, if thats the one at Mq then your gonna enjoy it, the units are great, as im doing a minor in economics and have done some finance units, i can say the teaching at mq for those areas is great.

Yer its great, if you have a passion for the field, you'll love it. just be wary the economics units at mq are quite difficult and have high failure rates, but if you enjoy it, then you will do well, but alot of ppl do struggle.

What do you mean 'what does my course involve'? Commerce and maths basically. You'll have to be more specific =(

But uhh, I chose it because I was told to take a Science degree and go from there. I had good memories of Commerce from high school and I had an opportunity to take Adv. Maths so I did. It allows me to pretty much get any mathematical job I want after graduating, or it can get me into the business world.

For my Science degree I'm getting mathematical expertise that I can either use to get a job or be a foundation for graduate stuff, for other majors it'll depend on what one picks.
