UWS and USYD is holding a lecture for subjects like math etc

I forgot the name of the USYD one, the school of excellence or something.

UWS math - $50 x2 for 2 unit and ext 1 (2days)

USYD math - $400 for 2 unit and ext (4 days)

I just want to know the quality of UWS vs USYD lecture. UWS is much cheaper but USYD seems much more prestigious. Which lecture should I attend???

I'm thinking of going to the eng ones to. Not for Physics or Chem because it'll be too expensive ;(

TSFX - The School For Excellence, is the one at USYD. I've heard lots of good things about them. There's also a 'Mastering the exams' lecture sometime & it only requires a $10 donation.

I always find these lectures to be a terrible waste of time and money.

These lectures are so useless, dont go, trust me, waste of time and $$$

Most Lectures in uni are also terrible, so think about that as well while you're at it.

I want to go, but I need reassurance in the quality of the lectures... Also, I heard that their notes are quite good. Can anyone vouch for that??

UTS

The HSC course isn't extensive enough for something like this to be worth time or money so don't bother (Jack)

What do you mean by UTS, all lectures everywhere are pretty crap, and I have heaps of friends at UNSW, they all say the same. It depends on the lecturer, some are good some are bad, right now out of 4, 2 are good, 2 are absolute shit.

The lectures for other subjects are expensive enough.

So what, are you guys going to the TSFX or UWS one?? Which one would be "better" and worth the money?

They're not run by USYD or UWS, they're run by TSFX and just so happen to take place in those university's theatres. When I was in the HSC in 09 they held it at Bond university, whatever the fuck that is.

Overall it just sounds like a loud of shite to me. Especially that $10 'mastering the exams' lecture, sounds like a tightass ploy for them to convince you to go to the other lectures.

Go spend your money on some textbooks or private tutor sessions instead if you're so inclined.

I also went to TSFX during the Christmas break. Chemistry was beautiful and maths was pathetic.
It was a great experience. Just walking up to USYD felt amazing.

Just a tad expensive there, plus my school usually runs outside tutorials for people at attend when they need some extra help of revision. I subscribed to TSFX mailing system, and they've all been very expensive over this year! Plus I only do English, Legal and Modern which they cover, so doesn't really benefit me for all my subjects.

Oh, there's also some lectures for English, Maths, Biology and Ancient coming up at Blacktown Libraries (a bit of a trek for some, I know it's like an hour for me -_-), but apparently they're good and they're not expensive at all!

Also, VERY SOON there are lectures at USYD for History (Ancient, Modern, and Extension) that are running next week, majority of schools attend so a couple of the days are full. These lectures are run by the HTA (History Teachers Association), and are very very worthwhile! Also the ETA (English Teachers Association) having a Modules lecture day at UTS coming up soon as well. I'm pretty sure any information regarding these days will be found on respective websites (HTA and ETA) if you guys want any more information.

UWS is holding one as well, but its $50 per day

while TSFX is $200 for 2 days ($100) per day.

Got a letter from TSFX today about their lectures, their description of the lectures including notes/questions sound quite tempting. I am going to the HTA lectures though.
