why is it so fucking difficult for usyd to release our timetables before february!? UNSW had theirs over a month ago! I have a life I need to plan out and I cant do that without my fucking timetable. I couldnt apply for a job i was interested in because I dont have my timetable so I have no idea if i would be free on the days the job required. I need to plan some time to see my boyfriend before he goes off and decides that he wants to go to the gym on certain days.

Why is it so necessary for USYD to hold our timetables until the WEEK BEFORE sem? Its seriously ridiculous and I demand answers from bosers who work for the timetabling department.

I am in the same boat. I need to work but I can't really apply. I can only guess when I will be free.

yeah this is ridiculous, seriously regret choosing USYD, shouldve gone to UNSW. I'd change but i've already settled into USYD and i like USYD science better.
I want to know the exact date timetables are getting released so i can get into the classes I need and not the shit ones.

oh yes forget to add, for all the first years, you can change your timetable manually at Jane Foss Building (student central) during O'Week

That's only in semester two. The changes are in Carslaw in semester one.

It looks like there weren't enough enrolments to justify having four lectures.

Meilz did you get your timetable, or are you using the central timetable and getting an idea of what your timetable is going to look like?

What, even for E&B students?
So why can't we change our timetables manually at home? Why do we have to travel all the way to uni to do it on a uni computer?

E&B students go somewhere else. I'm not quite sure but I could find out if you want. I think it's in the E&B labs down opposite the pool.

The only things you can do without us is block off a time period and see where that gets you.

The student timetables are actually done on a completely different server to the one hosting the website (look at the URL of the webpage when you collect your timetable, it's different to the website itself). Giving you the ability to change what you want would involve giving you a lot of privileges on that server which we just can't give to the average student as they'd probably fuck things up.

Mates, if the central timetable for a unit looks like this:

Part LEC Lecture
Each student enrolled goes to one of the following 3 classes. Class allocations are preserved on 06/03/11.
A Thu 08:00 [1 to 13 of sess 1], Fri 09:00 [1 to 7, 9 to 13 of sess 1]
B Thu 11:00 [1 to 13 of sess 1], Fri 11:00 [1 to 7, 9 to 13 of sess 1]
C Thu 11:00 [1 to 13 of sess 1], Fri 11:00 [1 to 7, 9 to 13 of sess 1]
Does that mean I have to attend both Thu and Fri?

USYD should learn how to do timetabling from UNSW. I made my timetable Dec 15th.
