You should start straight away. Who gives a crap about anybody else. Ensure you get in as quickly as possible.

Step 1: Open a word document.
Step 2: Begin writing out syllabus points into document.
Step 3: That day (cannot emphasise this enough), after school, summarise subject work under each relevant syllabus point.
Step 4: Before trials, print out notes.
Step 5: Study these notes.
Step 6: Watch the marks roll in.
This is what I live by for this year. And so far, I'm very happy with it but we havn't done a great deal as yet.

Yeah well, to be honest most of the people that have been topping subjects form yrs 7-11 I can't see stopping now. But yes, quiet ones will start to emerge from the woodwork now that it all matters, and it will put extra pressure on everything.. Hopefully I can maintain :[

It's my own burning out that I'm worried about..

And as for notes, no I haven't started yet.
I've highlighted lots of my english books though :]

,... It seems like we've hardly covered any content in chem/bio. Nothing substantial to transfer to notes anyway.
TOMORROW THOUGH, I'm going to do this.

You're right. Don't make any notes for any of your subjects. Don't listen to jetblack, he's only one of the smartest people on this forum.
You little arrogant prick, get off your high horse just because you go to James Ruse. It's people like you that give your school a bad name.
Cool good for you. Just a tip - people that come first in Yr 11, rarely ever come first in Yr 12. Stop being so arrogant.
<3 you for getting trolled. Also I came 1st in nothing, indeed my highest rank was 5th (class of 18 students).

PEOPLE JETBLACK HAS THE BEST ADVICE EVER

I just don't follow because of lack of time, but I advise everyone else to. Off to kill myself with another 5 hours of maths =D. But do read over the work you've done that day, or jot down a few points on the weekends on each subject so you could write 1-2 paragraphs on the topic if asked.

Wow that's a lot of work.. It's better to be consistent than to just cram a bunch in one day. 30 minutes a night > 5 hours in one day (should be doing more if you want 99+ though, heh)

I love how people pull the 'troll' card of of their hat as soon as they get called for something. Might as well try something original....I dunno, split personality?

So agreed to make notes, even summarizing for each week is good.
Screw the rank in school, go rank yourself with the entire Australian students then start talking if your coming 1st out of that.

Called for what? Being arrogant? Yeah I'm arrogant, but I do endorse the advice that Jetblack gives, even if I don't do it. Oh well, let Year 12s relieve their stress by abusing me, it's fun ^^

heyy but your ranks are more important than your internal assessmt marks arent they? I mean I thought ranks WERE quite important at our school rather than marks..

but yes for our external assessment, rank in the state is important to know. that's true.

I've started!

It's actually fun! I love the feeling of satisfaction received when you highlight that completed dot point.
