in a video conference the head of ancient said there would be a structure change it was good. u couldnt just reguritate the source and get a mark..I didn't like the section that much, the 8-marker was good though. The new format - i.e. no 1-marker suprised me.
I wrote Atrium and peristyle (which was in the background) For the fullery question - I answered where clothes were washed in urine; evidence of buckets outside fullerys, to collect urine. Other source of fishing i linked through the evidence of markets for fish, as well the dock. Other industries i linked to the geographical context of P/H: wine; fertile soil, evidence of vineyards. Fish sauce 'garum' , perfume.i wrote colonated pillars and impluvium (i know it sounds funny but i didnt put compluvium cz its like implied and cz theres an impluvium... sounded funny to put both) The worse was the question about tourism, bullshitted everything, did not know what to talk about, forgot all the stuff about maiuri
well i think i wrote the negative impact on tourism due to mismanagement, such as lack of training programs for tourist guides, absence of 'roped off sections' and inadequate supervision. Then i talked about the actual impact.. such as tourists climbing up walls and writing/inscribing their names on them, how trampled feet has led to crumbling of kerbing and streetscapes, and also things getting stolen.. all because of this mismanagement. I countered this with my own argument, agreeing with the source, saying that tourism has impacted positively economic wise = all revenue of tourism goes to funding for archeological conservation, and in that regard tourists are the 'client of archeology' and hence essentially important in terms of management .. something like that. Hope that's right anyway. Industry question was a bit vague. diverse domestic resources meant diverse industry.. evidence of hammers and anvils > metalworking industry. fresco of Bacchus god of wine and Pliny the younger account of Pompeian wine suggests a wine making industry.. then talked about fishing (garum) and fullers (textiles, urine etc) Pretty decent section.i talked about the overwhelming demand of the public along with their careless approach lead to a unnecessary amount of conservation on areas that were delicate and eventually became in such a bad state that they conducted various laws and events etc to rebuld the town and restore its delicacy, etc. Am i right?
I don't think you were meant to talk about anything other then the industries represented by the sources which were the fishing equipment (leads to garum associated products) And the fullery. So wine, fertile soil and vineyards dosn't really come into it lol.I wrote Atrium and peristyle (which was in the background) For the fullery question - I answered where clothes were washed in urine; evidence of buckets outside fullerys, to collect urine. It's sort of like an ancient laundry. And wth is a fullery i just said it was a storage place
Thats bascially it i think, but probably have to name the rooms etc, to get the top marks. You'd have to get some marks for that.Fuck I didn't study baths at all. Here's what I wrote: Water comes from aqueduct into baths through lead pipes, different rooms with differerent temperatures, different entrances/areas for genders (source goes here), area for excercising (e.g. weights), public toilets. Anyone wanna tell me if that'll be ok?
