That's why I was correcting murphyad. He implied that all ice caps were situated on water, like the North Pole ice caps, and thus those ice caps melting would not cause any change in sea levels. Murphyad unfortunately forgot about the vast ice caps on Greenland and Antarctica, which obviously would significantly affect sea levels.

No I think he was saying the ice caps would melt and the fresh water would MIX with the salt water.

I.e. The melting fresh water from the ice caps would run into the salt water (and thus be unharvestable)

I don't think he was talknig about tide levels at all.

Of course it is speculative as to which way weather patterns will go you sped, but if it does increase, the lake eyre region will fill with water. If the sea levels rise, more parts of australia will correspondingly becoming lower, creating more chance of inundation. Seriously research thigns before refuting them outright, you dumb cunt

The simple truth is:

Climate change will have both Pro's and Con's. Everything does. Claiming you'll now be able to grow something somewhere, that previously could not foster such produce, does not outweigh the fact that many, many different species of both plant and animal with either become extinct, or face serious problems. That's not including the countless people around the world who will share the same fate.

That said, there is no reason things should not be done in order to prevent, or at least lessen, the impact of this. I'm willing to say many people prancing around squealing "But there are pro's" are just those who don't care.

Much less food from the ocean, however, which is a huge source of protein to developing nations. Rising CO2 = rising oceanic acidification = plankton with calcium carbonate shells (and hard corals, come to think of it) are very unhappy = bottom-up trophic cascade.
