Yes, I know, but the thread topic is the 'benefits' thus the pros.Yes but I think the cons of melting ice caps may just outweigh the pros. Just.

Why will we be dead?Yes Tasmania may now be able to grow olives but you will be dead.
These ice caps are on land, not water. Melting of these ice caps will result in significant sea level rise. What will happen with those. Can you elaborate?
Umm yeah I think we know that. No one is denying that climate change will cause sea levels to rise. These ice caps are on land, not water. Melting of these ice caps will result in significant sea level rise.
That's why I was correcting murphyad. He implied that all ice caps were situated on water, like the North Pole ice caps, and thus those ice caps melting would not cause any change in sea levels. Murphyad unfortunately forgot about the vast ice caps on Greenland and Antarctica, which obviously would significantly affect sea levels.Umm yeah I think we know that. No I think he was saying the ice caps would melt and the fresh water would MIX with the salt water. That's why I was correcting murphyad. i think this guy wins because you tried to burn a post he made and then he fucking owned youOf course it is speculative as to which way weather patterns will go you sped, but if it does increase, the lake eyre region will fill with water. If the sea levels rise, more parts of australia will correspondingly becoming lower, creating more chance of inundation. Seriously research thigns before refuting them outright, you dumb cunt
no one assumed this you moronlololol you all assume (stupidly) that climate change is a result of humans... *sigh*
Most of worlds population living on the coast + Sea levels rising significantly = Many people displaced at best, and many more having lost their lives, at worst.why will countless people around the world share the same fate.
Any thread will bring out idiots and trolls. If you don't like it, here's a tip; just ignore them and only reply to posts you think have some substance.OP, you knew what was going to result from a thread like this on these forums. Why post it?
Lots of species go extinct. It won't necessarily be detrimental to human life. Plenty of species will of course to survive and many will prosper and increase in numbers, the point is that there will still be plenty of food, most likely more food in a warmer climate.Climate change will have both Pro's and Con's. Everything does. Claiming you'll now be able to grow something somewhere, that previously could not foster such produce, does not outweigh the fact that many, many different species of both plant and animal with either become extinct, or face serious problems.
Well you haven't really given us any evidence that the benefits will be dramatically outweighed by the costs.-100 + 1 is still -99
Much less food from the ocean, however, which is a huge source of protein to developing nations. Rising CO2 = rising oceanic acidification = plankton with calcium carbonate shells (and hard corals, come to think of it) are very unhappy = bottom-up trophic cascade.Lots of species go extinct. Rephrase, making more sense.wot if the fishes that dont eat them
