i wish- it takes up to five days for the points to be downloaded to your EDR page, and up to TWENTY-ONE days for it to get onto you Qantas page. I can hear the complaints already.... :(

I was at another store and I saw them at the service desk using the phone as the P.A to make announcements. How do you do this? Can it be done at any phone?

I always thought the mic was used??

Hmph! I miss my old store :( It was so new and pretty to look at and so BIG! My new one is small, old and falling apart. Wish I never got transferred! Smoke shop shelves have to be held up with blue tac and receipt rolls lol. Whenever I wanna look at my other store I just go back to youtube, cos it was on 4 corners and watch it hahahha.

No renovations till October! How long do they normally take? At my other store it took 5 months cos it was so big.

FYI, you will also need a return to work certificate regardless if your doctors certificate states that it only covers until next week.

As per return to work policy you will need this certificate to certify that you are fit and well to return to work on full duties(or modified ones). without this your return to work coordinator(usually SMorSTM/SSM) should be sending you home.

my advise is to go and get this, take it in and they cannot stop you from returning

Casual instead Part-time? was I fooled?

hi everybody

I was hired as a part-time longlife assistant at Woolies, in the job description it said it would be 20-30hours/week. Now it's been my 2nd week; my 1st week I only worked 2 days, and this week I've been told there was not enough work for me, so I only worked 4hours but in checkout.

I was chasing my manager about my roster, he was never available to talk, and the times I talked to him, he always said he didn't have time to work on my roster, so in my 2nd week, I have no idea how many hours I am going to work or the days I will be in store. I was a bit worried as I got the job but not working. Then I asked my manager if I was casual or part-time, cos for me, it sounded like I was casual, and for my surprise, he said I was hired as casual for the 1st 3 months, and he would call me whenever there is work available. They gave me short notice, about 2 hours before the shift started. They require me to be available 9am-9pm everyday but they dont give me work, so how can I survive like that, if I cannot have another job?? Did anyone have the same problem? I don't know what to do, I need to work so I am thinking of finding another job...

you will always start off with very few shifts, thats how it works, be available, and take any shifts they give u, once you've done the hard yards like this for a while, your shifts will become more regular (providing your at least somewhat decent at your job)

When i started, i only had 1 shift in 2 weeks, then got called in a few times when 2IC was sick, after about 2 months of this, i started getting regular shifts as a casual.

wut, at my store and the surrounding ones you probably get the most shifts when you first start.

They will rape you for every hour of your availability, until you appraoch them and say that you dont want to be working 9-5 every day as a casual.

tell them to get fucked, their having a laugh if they think you should be waiting by the phone for their calls, start looking for a new job so when they call you can shove it in their face.

I swear managers at big chains like woolies are some of the most fucking retarded.

It's also end of financial year and most managers are trying to cut wages everywhere if sales aren't doing as well as they had planned to get a good result.
