Does anyone have any practice essay questions on the AOS (belonging)? Need a list of three or four questions urgently! (practice for an upcoming assessment)

Belonging relies on both conformity and individuality. What is your view? Compose a persuasive response with reference to the prescribed text and 2 other related texts of your own choosing.

You will be assessed on:
- Understanding of the concept of belonging.
- Using language appropriate to audience, purpose and context.
- Having an in depth analysis of textual themes, techniques and contexts.

The above is purely made up.

Hints: it's all about techniques, audience: BOS markers (academics), purpose: to discuss/argue/persuade/convince, context: formal language, where do you stand? conformity? individuality? both? none? etc, provide why/how (reasons, techniques) to support opinions/ideas, be succinct, intergrate thesis into response i.e. what are thoughts in relation to belonging?/how do these relate to the statement within the question?

You have 1 hour to compose this. You can use the copies of related texts you have. - Just to be a bit nicer than the HSC exam.


Other questions:
- Belonging to a certain entity is the result of a particular identity. Discuss. As above, etc.
- Belonging is dynamic, process driven and complex. Using the concepts of journeys and change, create an argument which synthesises the three concepts mentioned above. As above etc.
- Belonging can be self-fulfilling and self-destructive. Explain the relevance of this statement with close reference to the texts you have studied.

With your topic, I suggest you be specific and create a thesis statement which is related but not identical to the topic.

E.g. While belonging remains an essential human need, instincts can be abandoned due to the strong external influences of society. This results in belonging in a way which meets normative expectations and deserts personal ideology.

So the thesis in this case could be: "Belonging is construct controlled by society."
